South Cotabato to launch Integrity Program on T’nalak

The Province of South Cotabato will officially launch its South Cotabato for Integrity and Jobs program dubbed as “i-South Cotabato” on the celebration of the province’s 50th Year Anniversary and T’nalak Festival this year. “The said activity includes: signing of integrity pack, integrity mascot–Super I, integrity float parade, and launching of theme song,” said Lurvie James Fruto, i-South Cotabato IIEC Secretariat. In line with this, the chosen members of i-South Cotabato already started to conduct a radio hopping this week to promote the said program and relay its message to the people. The said team includes, representatives from the Civil Society, Business Sector and the Provincial Government. The i-South Cotabato Integrity Program started beginning January 2014 when South Cotabato accepted the challenge to become one of the pilot implementers of Project I4J or Partnerships for Integrity and Job creation. Local Government and Civil Society cooperate for integrity and transparent effective small business and investment registration and promotion procedures by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS).

South Cotabato to implement eight (8) more Tourism Development Projects

The Arts, Culture and Tourism Office (ACTS) South Cotabato will be implementing 8 Development Projects as part of their thrusts to develop the tourism industry in the province. Senior Tourism Operations Officer, Cesar Sulit Jr., reported that the said projects include: Improvement and Upgrading of Gono Lemobung Lodge and Restaurant into a Premier Hotel, spa and Convention Center Lahit Development Project Seven Falls Development Hidak Falls Development Emily’s Green Park and Resort Paraiso Gulf Course Development San Felipe Resort Development cum Artists’ Village Matutum Fruit park Sulit also added that the said projects have a total budget allocation of Php51, 961, 645.00. Recently, the team also sponsored a meeting with the proponents to conduct investment matching, smooth presentation in the Network Reception Session (NRS) and to conduct a one-on-one meeting with potential investors.

South Cotabato prepares for the Regional Nutrition Evaluation

The Provincial Nutrition Action team headed by the Provincial Nutrition Action Officer-Ma. Ana Distor Uy, is now preparing for the Regional Nutrition Evaluation this year. Uy said that their team is now monitoring the different development programs and projects of the different Nutrition Offices in the province together with the different partner agencies to see the development in the nutritional status of children in the province. Recently, the team also conducted a Province Wide Evaluation to Monitor and Evaluate the Local Level Plan for Nutrion in each municipality. Last year, the National Nutrition Council (NNC 12) declared South Cotabato as the Most Outstanding Province in the Region.
