At least 1000 women are expected to gather today at the South Cotabato Gym and Cultural Center for the conduct of the Provincial Women’s Congress in celebration of the Women’s Month with the theme: “We make Change Work for Women”.
South Cotabato Governor Daisy Avance-Fuentes said, the activity being observed in the province ensures that the celebration will provide avenue for the women to gather and celebrate special occasion, more so feel the importance of the role of women in every aspects of development.
Various activities were prepared during the whole day activity. In the morning, there is going to be a cooking contest dubbed as “Luto ni Juana” featuring native chicken as the main dish and “Gandang Juana”, a Make-Up contest for women.
Added fun to the activity is the conduct of a Zumba craze for different women groups in color coded attire and parlor games.
The program proper in the afternoon will be highlighted with all women achievers of the province spearheaded by South Cotabato Governor Daisy Avance Fuentes with Ms. Bella Lechonsito, former Social Welfare Officer and now the Superintendent, Community Relations Office of the Saguittarius Mines Incorporated, a Tampakan Based Mining Company in the province.
The program will also feature Ms. Rona Ortiz of the BKR Food Products and Ms. Meryl L. Rivera, some of the successful women in business.
To cap the activity is the awarding ceremony for “Luto ni Juana” cokking contest, “GandangJuana” Make –Up contest, Best Zumba Group, Early Bird Awardee and the giving of the Plaque of Participation to the City/Municipal Local Government Units.
The activity is spearheaded by the Provincial Population Office.
